Music

On Monday afternoons we have music. This term we have been focusing on "Responding to Music". One of our favourite music sessions we had  was listening to a piece of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. We listened to the music with our eyes closed and allowed the music to build a picture in our head.

Some of the questions we asked ourselves were:

How did the music make us feel emotionally?

What visual pictures did we see from the music?

How did the picture change when the music changed?

When we had finished listening to the music we then drew a picture of our response. Some children went to the beach, others underwater, some even found themselves in a lonely place as this is how the music made them feel. By using memories and personal experiences the children were able to create a visual representation of the music.

In todays music session we were exploring how to respond to music using drama and facial expressions. We have taken some photos for you to see if you can work out what our response is. See how many you can guess?
