On ya bike Alwyn!

Reception parent Alwyn Thornton will be saddling up and hitting the road on 15th July to ride 100 gruelling miles in the Evans Cycles Ride It ESSEX Sportive 100 to raise funds for the urgently needed air conditioning at the junior site.

The ride will begin just outside Brentwood and will feature a route that takes in quiet lanes and gently rolling terrain around the Essex countryside, finishing at the (not so secret) nuclear bunker at Kelvedon Hatch.

Asked what has motivated him to take up the challenge Alwyn responded - "In the summer, the children experience hot weather which makes the classrooms an extremely warm and difficult  environment in which to work and learn. As the school has to raise it's own funds to get air conditioning installed, it is important to us as parents to do what we can to help. My aim is to challenge myself by riding with Evans Cycles in their Ride It Essex 100 mile Sportive to raise as much as I can for the school."

The PA would like to take this opportunity to thank Alwyn and to wish him the best of luck for the ride.

If you would like to sponsor Alwyn via his go fund me page, please click HERE.
