Events in 2020

The PA have launched their new fundraising lottery! Tickets are £1 each and the draws take place every Saturday at 8pm. Friends and family can also purchase tickets. There are local cash prizes every week and you have a chance to win a big jackpot! There is a separate email that has been sent out with all the information on how you can join.

During this very difficult time and whilst our children are at home, away from their friends, their teachers and all the things that are familiar to them about their education, we decided that it would be wonderful to have something physical to remind them of all the good things that will come again.  The PA have purchased a teddy bear for every child who is currently attending Chingford C of E and in agreement with Mrs Lampard we will be on site this week for you to collect your child’s teddy bear. A separate letter has been emailed out to give more details. The newest members of the C of E family are all called Harry and we do hope that you all enjoy your teddies!

The PA have funded a pantomime for all the children which they can now watch from home. Details will be sent out from the school regarding this. We hope that they enjoy watching Jack and the Beanstalk! Thank you to Tesco’s for letting us buy all of their popcorn which we were going to distribute to the children for when they were watching the panto. The children will now have the popcorn another time.

We held our first ever Chingford C of E Virtual Christmas Balloon Race which was another amazing success! The 7 day virtual race set off on from Harrods on 1st December and the winner was based on the furthest distance travelled in a straight line. It was great fun tracking your balloons to see where they ended up! Thank you to Shelley Williamson for organising this event and congratulations to all of the winners! This event made a profit of approximately £550!

We held our first ever Chingford C of E Virtual Christmas Fair and it was a massive success! We would like to say a big thank you to Kerry Friend for organising this fair. Thank you to all the stall holders that took part sharing their amazing products with us. It was a very exciting week and there was so much to take part in and buy. There were over 40 stalls selling amazing gifts, cakes, personalised ornaments, Christmas trees and much much more. There were takeaway, bottle, teddy and hamper raffles. Congratulations to all of the raffle winners and thank you to everyone who joined us and bought products not only supporting local and small businesses but supporting our school at the same time. Thank you to local companies that kindly donated prizes. These companies include Centrals Estate Agents in Walthamstow (Hamper raffle), Tesco’s - Chingford, Higham's Park and Edmonton, The Craft Cabin, The Wine Factor, Station Wine and Food, Breeze restaurant, The Card Factory, Nona Zenone Pizzas, Helen’s Coffee on the Green, Huckleberry Chicken and Cupcakes market. The profit raised from the fayre is approximately £1100!

Thank you to everyone that took part in the Elf Hunt which was a big success! We would like to say a big thank you to Father Christmas who took the time to visit lots and lots of the local streets to say hello to the boys and girls from our school! It was a very long day for him but it was much appreciated and certainly got us all in the Christmas spirit! You can see some of the photos from the day on our gallery page.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing support of the PA, as you will be aware we have been very quiet since the initial lockdown. Following discussions with Mrs Lampard we made the decision, in line with Government directives, to cancel all events that were planned. We remain in this position with regards to anything face to face however we will be launching our first ever Virtual Fundraisers!

In 2021, a number of the PA will be stepping down as their children go off to Senior School which means lots of opportunities for parents to step up and help the school with fundraising efforts. It is imperative for the survival of the PA that we have parental support. If you would be interested in being part of the PA please send your details to cofeschoolpa@gmail.com and a member of the PA will be in touch to chat through with you what you would need to do. Please note that this doesn’t mean you have to join the PA it’s just a way of finding out some more information. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

On 11th March Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their Challenge Day. This is organised through Skills Builder (formally called Enabling Enterprise) and it is a company that enables children to experience real work situations and visit real places of work. The PA funded this amazing opportunity for our children. Year 5 said "it was fun" "it allowed us to use our minds and be creative" "we worked well as a team, stayed positive and actually produced a game at the end" "I loved the experience of actually producing the game I grew in my imagination."

We would like to thank them both for their hard work over the last few years in the organising of our many events. You will be missed!
