Y1B Letter to Pupils April 2020

Dear 1 Bannister,
I hope that you are all well and enjoying all the fun activities and learning experiences mentioned on the school website. We have all been thinking about you and hope that you are keeping safe at this time.
As Easter is fast approaching, it would be a great idea for you to enjoy the season by: making Easter cards, Easter bonnets, reading the Easter story, writing the Easter story, writing an Easter poem, baking hot cross buns, baking Easter biscuits, making Easter baskets, making Easter nest cakes with shredded wheat and melted chocolate, colouring Easter pictures, designing Easter eggs, making Easter posters about the true meaning of Easter. For many of these activities, you could also write out a set of instructions for someone to follow for example; the Easter bonnets.
I was thinking about the elves who visited out class at Christmas time. I wonder what they are doing now to keep safe and well?
Please remember to keep safe by washing your hands frequently and by following all the instructions that your grown ups give to you!
Have a wonderful Easter and I look forward to seeing you soon!
Ms Da Silva and Ms Aziz
(PS: Don't eat too many chocolate eggs)

Y1S Letter to Pupils April 2020

Dear children

I hope you are well and taking good care of yourself. I am ok and taking good care of myself too. I am really missing you and I hope to see you again soon. I really miss our register time in the morning when you you would come smiling and excited into the classroom. I know you must be working really hard at home because you always work hard. I hope you are finding plenty of work on the school website that you are enjoying doing.

The other day I was thinking about Beegu and hope he understands why we're not in school. I thought it would be really nice if you could design a poster with lots of writing and pictures to explain to Beegu about the COVID -19 rules.

- When you cough and sneeze cover your mouth and nose with a tissue.

-Cough and sneeze into your elbow not your hands.

-Throw the tissue away.

-Clean your hands hands regularly and especially after coughing and sneezing (I think it would be a good idea to show Beegu how to wash her hands properly too).

Also I want you all to be as clever as Rapunzel and draw a really detailed picture of her and the evil witch. Remember to write sentences with adjectives to describe what they look like. Think about what they wear, what their body looks like and also don't forget about Rapunzel's hair.

Finally I would like to wish you all a happy Easter and look after yourself. I hope to see you again soon. Please do stay in touch and let me know how you are getting on with your school work.

Lots and lots of love from Mrs Gull and Mrs Wharrie

Remember to do some exercise in your garden or maybe inside your house!
