Y3B Letter to Parents April 2020
Dear Bowie Class,
Hello everyone! I hope that you and all your families are all well and staying at home safely! I have to say that it feels very strange not teaching you at the moment. I miss you all. Hopefully we will be back together in our classroom soon.
I hope you are behaving yourselves for your new teachers! There are lots of ideas about what you can do on the website so don’t forget to check it out. The White Rose Maths and Pobble are really good.
I am really looking forward to finding out what you have been learning about. In our house we have started to learn sign language. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and now have the time to do so. We do this through YouTube (Natasha Lamb and Kelly-Ann). I challenge you to learn the alphabet in sign. Maybe you would like to find out about a different language?
Something else that I have started to do is to write a journal. This is such a strange and unique time that I am sure in years to come that children will be learning about this time in their history lessons! Writing a journal is a great way to remember what has happened and it can also help to write down your feelings. Maybe you could be the next Samuel Pepys!
Our topic in school after Easter is plants/forces in Science, South America in Geography, Anglo-Saxons in History and Local Parish Church in R.E. It would be fantastic if you could do some research about these. You could maybe do models, posters or a booklet to show what you’ve learnt.
I really enjoyed our Topic on the Romans that we did and thought that you did a super job invading 3 Potter! We had great fun! I often find myself singing the Boudica song in my kitchen!
I wish you all a safe and healthy Easter. Be kind to yourself and others remembering that there is a lot more good in the world than bad. I hope to see you soon. Keep washing those hands!
Mrs M, Miss Connolly and Sam send their best wishes too!
Take care and stay safe,
Y3P Letter to Pupils April 2020
Hello 3 Potter!!
This is just a little message for you all to tell you that you have been in my thoughts and I am missing you all so much! I want to remind you how special you all are and how much I have enjoyed having you in my class this year. You are the reason my experience in England has been amazing and one I will always remember!
I hope that you have been staying busy with all the activities that are listed on the school website. How are you all getting on with the work? I’d love to hear from you. I have sent out an email on purple mash to check in with you, so make sure to have a look at it and send me a reply if you can.
As our class assembly would have been coming up very soon, I want to set a task for you all as an extra activity you can work on. Pick one thing you learnt at school this year and create a presentation as if you were going to present it in our class assembly. You could write it up on a poster, create a PowerPoint presentation or even act it out and film it! If you go on purple mash and search 2Animate, you can upload your presentation there to show me if you like! Some ideas could include:
Maths: Multiplication and Division with regrouping or money
Literacy: The Tin Forest
Geography: Weather (rainforests, polar lands, deserts)
PE: Sprinting, long distance running, hockey (even the way we do the daily mile)
I hope that you are all keeping your spirits high and staying healthy and happy. I also want you to think about all those little quotes I had on our board while we were doing our morning routine (be the reason someone smiles today, being kind to yourself and others) and see if you implement that in your day. It’s also important to keep following the COVID-19 rules every day so that you can remain healthy and safe. I want to wish you all a happy and safe Easter. I miss you all so much and I hope to see you all soon!
Lots of Love,
Miss Smith 😊
