Year 5 Trip To Suntrap

On Friday, Year 5 took an amazing trip to Suntrap to learn about trees as part of our new topic and even took part in pond-dipping at Suntrap's two ponds (we caught lots of interesting pond creatures!). Please see our photos below to look at what we have been doing.

Diary Dates for this Half Term:

Friday 17th June 2016 - Suntrap. Bring a mac!

More information coming soon...

On Monday 13th June, Year 5 had a fabulous day at The Royal Gunpowder Mills. The children got to experience some aspects of life during World War II. The sessions focused on evacuation, rationing, the armed forces and the role of an ARP warden. Through artefacts and role play, the session leaders gave children a taste of life on the Home Front.

Time Spent in the Circle

This term, Year 5B have been engaged in Circle Time with Mr Osborne and Mr Bloomfield in the revamped former Infants ICT suite. Circle Time is a PSCHE session where the class have an opportunity to share their opinions and views without fear of them being repeated outside of the session.  We also enjoy a variety of games that support the Circle Time skills. Lately, we have been discussing our school's Christian values and touching on many topics throughout  the school including philosophy! Please look at our photos below to see us in action.

Hunting Lodge

Design and Technology bread making. The children were given a brief to design a tea time loaf using ingredients from the major food groups of the Eat Well Plate.

After making their bread the children had a tasting session which was enjoyed by all!

Football training with Leyton Orient. We have been improving our hand eye coordination and general football skills.

Thank you for visiting our class page on the school website! Come back soon to see what else is happening.
