Children Celebrate First Whole School Church Service For Two Years

Due to the lifting of restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 Pandemic, Father Justin has finally got to lead his first whole school church service since arriving at the Parish Church nearly two years ago. Talking to a packed church, Father Justin complimented the children on their fine singing and thanked the children's families for turning out in force to join in the Easter celebrations.

The order of service included Year 4 pupils reading from Mark 16 v 1-8 and Year 2 Prayer Club members leading prayers. In addition, Koray (Yr 6) and Bethany (Yr 5) sang a beautiful duet called 'Shalom'. The children and families joined in with the singing of 'This is the day' and ' I was there at the stable'.

During the service Ms Lampard took the opportunity to say a public farewell to 'After School Club' lead,  Mrs Lyn Kox, who retires at the end of term following nearly 5 years service.

Kayden from Reception was really excited to go to church for his first ever visit with the school saying, "I liked the singing and Father Justin's clothes! There was a big cross at the back of the church and a picture in the window. My auntie came to church too."
