Culture Day
On March 24th the school held a Cultural Day celebrating its rich cultural diversity. Children and staff celebrated their heritage by coming into school dressed in national costumes or clothing associated with their family origins. The day was also marked by a visit from an Indian dance group and a specially devised dinner menu showcasing delicious food from Italy, USA and the Caribbean.
Edwina, from Year 6, who came dressed in Ghanaian costume, commented, "It's really cool seeing people dressed up in costumes from so many countries. Miiechah's t-shirt featuring 8 different flags connected to her heritage was particularly interesting and caught my eye straight away."
Miiechah, also from Year 6, said her favourite costume was worn by classmate Emir who came dressed in Turkish-styled clothing. She also enjoyed Joseph's (Year 3) take on a traditional Bavarian costume.
