Girls' Football Tournament!

Mr Blake had the pleasure of taking 16 year 5 and 6 girls to goals on Tuesday for what turned out to be the largest schools football tournament ever within Waltham Forest for either boys or girls! 

He was very pleased to report that the behaviour of the children, both on and off the football pitch, was impeccable, and they showed tremendous respect and sporting behaviour to both the opposition and the referees involved in the running of the tournament. 

Both teams experienced on field success by winning their opening group games 2-1 against very good opposition. All the girls battled hard and showed some real quality on the ball and worked hard off the ball to help each other and try to prevent the opposition from having any shots on goal.  

The Chingford CofE  Green team did manage to make the quarter finals where they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by what looked a very experienced team, and we did have our chances but unfortunately it was not to be on the day! Out of 37 teams they should be very proud of themselves for making it as far as they did. 

Well done to all 16 children involved, you were a huge credit to the school and Mr Blake had nothing but superlatives to say when he got back from the trip!
