Lifeguards Teach Beach Safety
Two lifeguards from the Royal National Lifeboat Institute have visited the school to talk to the children about beach safety. Children from towns and cities are most at risk of getting into difficulty along our coastline so the RNLI are targetting schools in these areas with a programme designed to acquaint children with the dangers associated with a day at the seaside. The school's Junior Accident Prevention Officer, Eleni, described the sessions as "interesting" adding, " We learnt about things such as the meaning of flags, how to avoid getting sun burn and how to react if you're caught in a rip tide."
The lifeguards also brought along with them their truck which they use to patrol the beach.
