Local MP Makes a Visit
Local MP and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, the Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith, recently visited the school to talk to newly elected members of the school council. The MP was invited to the school by 3 pupils, Jack Page, William Hands and Evie Love, who jointly composed a letter as part of their literacy work. IDS, as he is popularly known, spent an hour with the school council talking about his experiences working in Parliament and his career as a politician. Before he left the MP gave the children an invite to visit him at the House of Commons later in the year.
