School Councillors Visit Town Hall
Members of the Chingford C of E Junior School's school council recently visited the Council Chambers at Waltham Forest Town Hall to find out how democracy works at a local level. The pupils visit was hosted by Cllr Michael Lewis who represents Chingford Green Ward.
The children met up with the Mayor of Waltham Forest Cllr Richard Sweden who answered questions about what his role entails. Year 5 pupil Michael Mooney thoroughly enjoyed his trip to the Town Hall describing it as, "An excellent and interesting visit. I really liked meeting the Mayor."
The school council's next visit will be to City Hall, London, where they will look at how London is governed. Later in the year the pupils will visit the Houses of Parliament.
