Computing
At Chingford C of E Primary we believe that computing is an integral part of everyday life and will play an immeasurable part in our children’s futures. Therefore, it is essential that pupils gain the confidence and ability that they need in this subject, to prepare them for the challenge of a rapidly developing and changing technological world.
At Chingford C of E Primary we provide our children with the skills, creativity and enthusiasm to live and thrive in a world increasingly dependent on computing.
Pupils develop skills, knowledge, understanding and capability in computer science, information technology and digital literacy knowledge in order to become independent and skillful users of technology and will be outward looking and forward thinking in this technological age.
Computational thinking activities are vital in helping children to solve problems, design systems, write sequences of instructions and evaluate and amend them. Pupils who can think computationally are better able to conceptualise, understand and use computer-based technology,
We aim to ensure that children become safe, responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information technology. Also that they have opportunity to use technology to enhance and extend their learning across the whole curriculum whilst contributing to motivation and the development of social skills.
As children’s confidence grows they will be able to make informed and discerning choices about their use of information technology
