                                                              Modern Foreign Language (MFL) – French Mission Statement:

 “A high-quality languages education should foster pupils’ curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world.” (DfE, 2014)

At Chingford C of E Primary School we aim to achieve this through facilitating dynamic learning opportunities which nurture a passion for languages and an appreciation of their importance in the modern world.

We believe that learning a foreign language (French) prepares pupils to participate in a rapidly changing society in which work and other activities are often carried out in languages other than English. Our children will develop lifelong language learning skills which will improve their competence in an existing language as well as strengthen their awareness of the wider world. Increased capability in the use of MFL promotes initiative, confidence and independent learning and encourages diversity within communities
