Christmas Church Service
Our annual Christmas church service at the Parish Church of Ss Peter & Paul was sadly cancelled due to the treacherous conditions on the footpaths outside the school sites. Despite this disappointment, the service went ahead at the Junior site where a streaming link was set up ensuring our pupils on the Infant site took part.
Father Justin welcomed everyone to the service, gave a talk and led us into the Lord's Prayer. He also finished the service with a Christmas blessing.
Some shepherds from Year 3 carried out the readings while the school choir sang 'O Little Town of Bethlehem'. Pupils from our Infant Prayer Club also pitched in with some prayers they had written.
The whole school joined in with the singing of three carols - 'Starry Night', 'Silent Night' and 'Mary's Child.’
Year 6 pupil, Toby, who set up the video link and who was also in charge of the sound system, said, "It was a shame we didn't manage to get to church but it was a successful event with a good message preached by the vicar."
Ivy, also from Year 6, added, "I enjoyed the service. I'm glad we didn't walk to church as I'm sure someone would have slipped in the icy conditions which would possibly ruin their Christmas."
