Easter Church Service
The Spring Term ended today with a Church Service led by Father Justin at the Parish Church. As part of his talk Father Justin stapled pieces of paper onto a very large wooden cross in front of the altar. Each sheet of paper had a sin or wrong doing written on it. He then set fire to the pieces of paper to emphasise the fact that Christ paid the penalty for our sins on the cross. Needless to say, the children were very excited by this spectacle!
Year 4 pupil, Caleb, commented, " I was a bit nervous when he first started to light up the pieces of paper on the cross as most of the building is made of wood but I needn't have worried as everything was under control and it was all good fun."
Year 5 pupil, Issy, added, "My friends and I were shocked that Father Justin's a firestarter! It certainly grabbed everyone's attention leaving us all shocked!"
In the absence of Ms Lampard, Mr Osborne read out her Headteacher's Address which included wishing everyone in our school community a very happy and peaceful Easter.
