Rights Respecting Council Trip to City Hall
City Hall Visit
On our trip we went to City Hall.
We went on three different modes of transport – the overground to Liverpool Street, the underground to Tower Hill and then the DLR to Royal Victoria.
We went through airport like security and then we were greeted by Richard. He was really kind and knowledgeable.
Richard told us all about London now and then. He showed us the past and present mayors of London. Then he showed us a really exciting video of London in different time periods.
Charlotte commented ‘I like when we saw the debating room because it was very interesting knowing who uses it – the Mayor of London and all the elected members of the assembly. People who don’t work in city hall can sit in the comfy cinema like seats – they can see what the Mayor is debating what things would make London a better environment for everyone.’
Once we had finished at City Hall we were lucky enough to go on the cable cars which took us over the River Thames. It was fun because we got to sit in the cable cars and see what the River Thames looks like from a height.
‘Overall I would say it was a ten out of ten trip because City Hall is such a fabulous place, the members are so nice and greeted us like we were the Mayor! ‘By Charlotte.
