STRIKE DAYS 05/07/2023 & 07/07/2023
Dear parents/carers,
As you are aware the NEU(one of the teachers’ unions) have declared strike action, which will take place on Wednesday 5th July 2023 and Friday 7th July. The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over teachers’ pay, and not because of any issues at our school.
I am writing to inform you that Chingford CofE Primary will be partly open on Wednesday 5th July only for pupils in Y4, Y5 and Y6. Breakfast and After School Clubs will run as normal only for Y4,Y5 and Y6 on that day. Y5 will be going on their planned educational trip to Neasden Temple.
We have not taken this decision lightly. We remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our pupils, and feel that we are not able to open to other year groups safely.
On Friday 7th July school will be completely closed for all pupils.
I’m sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child on that day. I am acutely aware that you may have to make different arrangements for your children within your family. I understand that this situation may be frustrating, and ask that all members of our school community continue to treat each other with respect.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
Lindsey Lampard
Headteacher
