Trip to Parliament

Our Trip to the houses of Parliament.

First, we took the train and the tube to the Houses of Parliament. We had to go through airport style security. Elaine and Gopash were our guides for the day. They took us around Parliament.  We had to wear special headphones to hear what they were saying. We were even lucky enough to see a real debate in the House of Commons.

Mikayla thought that the information given to us by Lauren (our session leader) was very interesting and we got to play games to do with objects from Parliament too.  At the end of the session we had to press buttons on a special computer to say whether we agreed with different statements about parliament. That was fun.

Hayden liked watching the debate. We went up lots and lots of stairs.  Dexxi thought there too many stairs!

Jack liked the headphones that they gave us when we were shown around.  He liked finding out about the different coloured seating in the House of Lords and House of Commons.

Daniel really liked the guides (Elaine and Dopash) and he thought it was great that they answered so many questions.

Mrs Nicholaou was surprised to find out that the Great Hall was once used for games of tennis and that recently they found old tennis balls up in the rafters!
