Waltham Forest Cross-Country

On Saturday 14th March, 50 of our KS2 pupils took part in the final Waltham Forest cross-country event of the academic year. With the weather on our side, everyone gathered at the starting line feeling a mix of excitement and nerves.

The boys raced first, and it wasn’t long before we saw the white shirts of our runners powering towards the finish line. They ran brilliantly as a team and secured an impressive 3rd place overall.

Next up were the girls. They set off at a strong pace and, just like the boys, it felt like no time had passed before a sea of white shirts came racing into the finish. An incredible 8 of the first 14 finishers were from our school, helping the team achieve a fantastic 1st place finish.

Both our girls’ and boys’ B teams also performed exceptionally well, each earning runner-up medals. This means the trophy is now back at school where it belongs, following three consecutive cross-country victories.

There was plenty of mud, a few lost trainers, and lots of exhausted - but very happy - children at the end of the day!

We are incredibly proud of every pupil who took part. A special mention goes to Ediz in Year 5 and Lulu in Year 6 who both achieved an outstanding 2nd place in their races, competing against fields of 234 and 197 runners respectively.

Well done to everyone involved and a huge thank you to the parents and staff who came along to support.
