Y2 sing at the Barbican
On the 2nd November, Y2 visited the Barbican Theatre to hear the London Symphony Orchestra play many ballet classics. The theme was taken from the book: Dogs don't do Ballet. Rachael Leach, composer, presenter and animateur put on a splendid show that everyone thoroughly enjoyed - in particular, the dance with her shadow 'Biff' (the dog from the story) as improvised by a child from the audience. Miss Habershon, who organised the trip said, " A dog playing the harp cadenza from Swan Lake was something we had certainly never seen before! The children sang beautifully and their behaviour at the concert hall and on our travels was exemplary, as always! "
Genji's mother said afterwards, "I have heard countless stories from the children about how much they enjoyed the concert and how it has inspired them in various ways. No doubt, the song school teachers taught prior to this school trip was the one we got the chance to enjoy most at home. The school's dedication to providing enriching experience for the students is greatly appreciated."
