⚽ Year 5 & 6 Girls’ Football Champions!
Our Year 5 and Year 6 girls took part in an exciting football competition held at Goals - and what a fantastic event it was!
With 33 schools from across the borough competing, the standard of football was exceptionally high. We entered two teams: a Year 5 team and a Year 6 team. Both played superbly in the group stages and progressed to the knockout rounds, a huge achievement in itself.
In a thrilling twist, our two teams met in the quarter-finals. It was a closely contested match, with the Year 6 team narrowly winning 1-0 in a competitive and well-played game.
The Year 6 team continued their outstanding form, going unbeaten throughout the tournament and conceding just one goal overall, an exceptional defensive record. A special mention must go to Rebecca, who conceded only one goal across the entire competition. The team demonstrated determination, teamwork and resilience, ultimately winning the tournament and being crowned champions out of 33 schools, a remarkable accomplishment.
Year 6 Team:
Rebecca, Lulu, Ania, Jaime, Bella C, Isabelle R, Sophia W and Vera
Year 5 Team:
Sophia K, Rubey Rose, Akexia, Dolly, Sofia M, Nyah, Issy and Layna
We are also incredibly proud of our year 5 team who played with confidence and courage, competing brilliantly against strong Year 6 opposition. Reaching the knockout stages was a fantastic achievement and shows great promise for the future.
Well done to all the girls for representing our school with such pride, teamwork and sportsmanship. We could not be prouder.
