Year 5 Residential Trip

Year 5 pupils spent 3 days and 2 nights at The Hive last week enjoying glorious sunshine and a variety of activities including team building games, shelter building, pond dipping, orienteering and marshmallow toasting around a camp fire.

The Hive, formerly known as Suntrap, is set in acres of beautiful countryside in the heart of Epping Forest and provides an ideal opportunity for pupils to discover the wonders of the Forest, develop new skills as well as socialise with children outside of their immediate friendship groups.

Jessica, from 5 Hawking class enjoyed the trip commenting, "The activities were varied and amazing. The instructors were kind and patient." Classmate Jack was just as enthusiastic adding, "The food was great. We all ate vegan food which I haven't eaten before - it was lovely!"

Hasan from 5 Bronte was impressed by the accommodation. "The pods are well ventilated and I felt comfortable despite the hot weather." He added, "The pods are spacious enough for 3 or 4 pupils with plenty of room for luggage."

Fellow 5 Bronte pupil, Zhion, spoke of the facilities at The Hive. "The toilets and showers are very clean and eco friendly. The dining hall is very modern."

When asked if she would go back to The Hive, Hawking class member, Amara, was adamant saying, "I would definitely go again. It was brilliant!"
