Welcome

Welcome to Chingford Church of England Primary School.

Welcome

To pupils, parents & carers, we hope you see this site as an extension of your school; one that you can visit whenever you want for information or simply to show us off to your friends. To those of you we don’t yet know, we hope you‘ll find it worth your while to have a good look around and find out more about us! Chingford CofE is a successful two-form entry primary school split across two sites.

Our school is situated in a pleasant part of North Chingford close to Epping Forest, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest and we have close connections with the local parish church of St Peter's & St Paul's: "A vibrant church-school partnership contributes to the academic and spiritual flourishing of the school community." SIAMs 2024 We are a UNICEF Rights Respecting School and our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. Emphasis is placed on high standards of achievement and behaviour within a supportive environment. We carefully plan our curriculum to ensure it is broad but has depth. We want to instil in our children a passion for learning. Our Christian vision  is underpinned by the sentiments expressed in St Paul’s letter to the Christian community living in Philippi who were instructed to ‘not only look out for your own interests but take an interest in others, too‘ (Philippians 2:4). This inclusive vision permeates every aspect of our school life encouraging excellence, aspiration, care and empathy in all our stakeholders; of looking out not only for our interests, but also the interests of others; in short, of taking care of each other underpins all that we do. Our school's Christian values of compassion, forgiveness, honesty,  humility, tolerance, tenacity and service  are at the core of all we do. Through our curriculum and our daily acts of collective worship they are embedded alongside the articles laid down in the convention on the rights of the child. As a result the children are happy, friendly and well-behaved and they love learning. Spiritual development is a vital component of daily school life with opportunities to connect to the world around us, appreciating  the awe and wonder, developing curiosity and connecting us to a sense that there is something greater than us. Our children achieve results in all subjects that are higher than the national average and consistently make good progress too. Our recent Church school inspection concluded, SIAMS 2024: "The vision, based on a verse from Philippians, inspires school life at Chingford. Pupils, staff and governors are driven by a deep compassion for one another to work for the flourishing of all. This sense of a strong, purposeful community is tangible and unites a large school community across two sites. The vision is well known by parents, staff, governors and pupils. Leaders use it to drive decision-making and school improvement. Governors are highly supportive of the work of staff and are incredibly proud of the difference the school makes."
