Today, 30 of our Year 4 pupils had the honour of attending the Remembrance Service at Chingford Mount Cemetery, joined by around 200 other pupils from across the borough.

Emily and Cece proudly represented our school by laying a wreath beneath the Cross of Sacrifice. We then split into smaller groups, where the children laid flowers and crosses in tribute to the brave soldiers who fought for our freedom.

The children also took part in two minutes of silence, led by Councillor Roy Berg, followed by the release of two beautiful doves, symbolising peace.

It was a truly lovely and moving afternoon and a privilege for our children to pay their respects and show their gratitude to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As we reflect on the sacrifices made by so many, we remember that they gave up their today for our tomorrow.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

Lest we forget.
