  • Leavers' Day

    The school bade farewell to its Year 6 pupils today following a service at the Parish Church and a brunch back at school shared with members of their families. The school also said goodbye to long serving deputy headteacher, Mr Osborne, and Year 4 teacher, Ms Da Silva, who has taught at the school for 5 years.

    LSA, Mrs Hobbins, also leaves us along with Mrs Beg, the school’s business manager for the past 9 years.

    A special thank you to Mother Marilyn, herself a former C of E pupil, who led the church service.

    We wish all our leavers God's blessing as they begin new phases in their lives.

  • Morocco Crowned World Champions

    With the women's World Cup kicking off today 'Down Under', it was timely that the school staged the final of its 7 a-side mini World Cup this morning featuring Year 4, 5 & 6 boys and girls representing Brazil and Morocco.

    With the game ending 1-1, the contest was eventually decided by penalty kicks with Morocco emerging as the winners.

  • Year 6 Leavers’ Awards

    A plethora of certificates, medals and trophies were handed out this afternoon to our wonderful Year 6 pupils in recognition of the skills and talents they have displayed during their time at the school.

    Seb, who won the coveted Sportsperson of the Year award, commented, “I’d like to thank the school for giving me the opportunity to develop my sporting skills.”

    Georgie, Belle and Molly who all won a Headteacher’s award, were very excited about their success. Georgie said, “I’m really grateful for the support I’ve received from the school - I’ll miss it very much when I leave.”

    Belle was equally enthusiastic about the school saying, “The awards ceremony was brilliant. I’ve enjoyed my time at the school especially the trips we’ve been on over the years.”

    Molly has really enjoyed her involvement in sporting activities at the school, “The school has really encouraged me to take sport seriously. I now play football, cricket, and thanks to the daily mile, I love running!”

  • Year 3 visit to Stansted Mountfitchet

    Year 3 pupils had a fantastic time visiting Stansted Mountfitchet Castle this week as part of their history module on the Anglo-Saxons. Even the unseasonal weather couldn't dampen the children's spirits!

  • Talent Contest Final

    Year 5 pupil, Issy, stormed to victory in this year’s T-Factor final by receiving the largest share of the Key Stage 2 pupil vote for her rendition of ‘Naughty’  from Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical. 

    Eight acts fought out a hugely entertaining final that included singing, comedy and dance.

    Harry from Class 3 Potter really enjoyed watching the contest saying, “I loved the guy who did the Russian dancing but it was really hard to vote for one particular act as they were all so good.”

    Year 4 pupil, Arthur, commented, "I absolutely loved the show. I was rooting for my classmates Anthony and Caleb but unfortunately they didn't win."

    Max from Year 5 felt Francesca from Year 3 was unlucky not to win. "It was amazing to hear a Year 3 pupil sing so well," he enthused, "she was amazing!" 

  • Year 6 End of Year Play

    Year 6’s hilarious end of year play, ‘I’m an 11 year old, get me out of here!’ played to a full-house of parents, carers and family members yesterday.  

    Luca, who played the role of a contestant in the 'They're, There, Their challenge' loved the show saying, "I really enjoyed throwing a bucket full of confetti over Mr. Osborne's head when he failed to complete the challenge in time."

    Lola, who excelled as an embarrassing mum, mused, "My part in the play was a little bit too close for comfort for some of the mums in the audience but I think they found it funny."

    Austin, who played the part of a character called David Hat and Umbrella, commented, "It was great fun doing the show and I'll remember it for the rest of my life."

  • Parents/Carers invited to meet the new teacher for September 2023!

    On Wednesday 12th July from home time to 5pm parents/carers are warmly invited to meet their child's new teacher. The children met their new teacher this morning!

    From September the Reception classes will be taught by Miss Helen Scully in Reception Darling and Reception Shakespeare by  Miss Rachael Nunn.

  • Year 2 pupils lead 'Rights Respecting School' assembly at Junior site

    Five courageous advocates from Year 2 led an assembly today to KS 2 pupils on the subject of children's rights. The 5 pupils, Oliver, Ben, Zac, Maxwell and Jahmaze, reminded the students of the role of duty bearers and some of the rights of children contained in the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of a Child. They also led the children in singing a song about children's rights.

  • Professor visits Year 5

    Professor Paul Curzon, a Professor of Computer Science from London University, spent a day with Year 5 pupils last week looking at computational thinking. Paul, a longstanding friend of the school, visits us each year to deliver his inspirational workshops.
