  • Remote learning for majority of pupils from 6th January 2021 following the government's announcement

    Wed 30 Dec 2020

School will remain on remote learning for the majority of pupils when term resumes on Wednesday 6th January 2021, following the latest announcement by the government, this afternoon. Work can be found on google classroom.

School will be open for the children of key workers and vulnerable children during normal school hours and in their usual classroom. Breakfast and After school clubs will not re-open until we are given permission by the DfE, to re-open fully.

Please email us on: covidreporting@ccofe.waltham.sch.uk if you think that your child should be considered for a key worker/vulnerable place, as we are aware that some people's circumstances have changed, plus we have welcomed our new reception children since March. Please explain your job/reasons for wanting a place. We are expecting all pupils who attended regularly from March to June and those who attended on the last few days before the Christmas holidays, unless your circumstances have changed!

  • School moves to remote learning from Tuesday 15th December until end of term

    Mon 14 Dec 2020

Following advice from Waltham Forest Council and Public Health, school will close today for the majority of pupils and move across to remote learning for the duration of the term. The only exceptions are for  key worker children and those with specific needs (exactly the same as in the first lockdown). It is absolutely essential that everyone understands this is NOT an opportunity to extend Christmas celebrations in any way, but this has to happen to reduce the risk of transmission.

Those families in receipt of free school meals (not the universal free school meals) will be issued with vouchers just as you are going to be for the Christmas holiday to cover for these extra days.

All the remote learning activities for the next three days have been posted on google classroom. Do not hesitate to contact school if you can’t access them for any reason/need help or advice. Please ring us/email us, if you have any difficulties in accessing your free school meal vouchers.

  • Red Balloon Foundation Christmas Boxes

    Mon 14 Dec 2020

The Red Balloon Foundation work closely with the school supporting us with collective worship and the teaching of Religious Education. They have also helped us set up prayer spaces and run a lunch time prayer club for Year 2 pupils.

This Christmas Red Balloon have supplied each class with a Christmas Box of resources and a PowerPoint presentation linking Christmas traditions of today with the events surrounding the birth of Christ.

Year 5 pupil, Tommy, said he found the PowerPoint presentation, 'inspiring'. Fellow Year 5 pupil, Kristal, described the Christmas Box resources as being, 'useful'. Kristal added, 'I loved the smell of the myrrh.'

The Red Balloon Foundation's involvement with the school is funded by our local church. For more details about the charity visit their website: www.rbf.org.uk

The children's daily mile became a Santa Dash recently with children asked to come to school dressed as Santa or one of his elves. Even the wet weather couldn't prevent our little santas from going about their business - let's hope Santa Claus himself won't be weather affected on the big day!
