  • Rabbi spends time with Year 2 pupils

    Thu 29 Sep 2022

Fresh from celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, Rabbi Odom Brandman visited the school today to talk to Year 2 pupils about Jewish beliefs and practices.

Rabbi Brandman from the Chabad Lubavitch in Buckhurst Hill is a regular visitor to the school who gives freely of his time to help us deliver part of the Judaism module of our RE curriculum.

Dev from 2 Morris class said he enjoyed the Rabbi's visit and discovered the rabbi works very hard doing such things as reading the Torah scroll, marrying people and blessing new born babies.

Eloise, also from 2 Morris commented, " The best part ot the visit was when the Rabbi blew the rams horn!"

2 Nightingale pupil, Amelie added, " I learnt that the Rabbi takes funerals and sometimes when Jewish people die their funeral can take place within a day!"

  • Become a Well-Being Ambassador!

    Mon 12 Sep 2022

    Message from Mr Blake:

This year I have taken on the role of Wellbeing within the school and part of that role is choosing the Wellbeing Ambassadors for each class.

Each child has been asked to write a letter explaining why they think they will be best suited for the role. They have been asked to link it back to the Christian Values and the school vision statement and how they best show them within school.

The Wellbeing Ambassadors can have a huge positive impact on the children and I hope this can continue so please encourage your child to write a letter!

The deadline for writing a letter is Tuesday 20th September 2022.

    Thank you and take care.

    Mr Blake
