  • Winners of promoting good mental health initiative rewarded with trip to Lee Valley Velodrome

    Thu 09 Feb 2023

The winners of last year's Year 4 'Champions Challenge' finally got to claim their prize with a fun day out at  Lee Valley Velodrome today. The pupils, now in Year 5, got to go behind the scenes at the Velodrome as well as practising their BMX skills.

The 'Champions Challenge' is organised by the Red Balloon Foundation who train selected Year 5 pupils to mentor pupils in Year 4 on how to maintain good wellbeing with a focus on physical, emotional and dietary habits. Those Year 4 pupils who are organised and enthusiastic in their journal keeping are rewarded with an exciting day out.

One of the 'Champions', Isabella, really enjoyed the day out saying, "I loved riding the BMX bikes around the course so much so that I'd like to revisit the centre with my family."

Many of the 'Champions' are now acting as instructors to pupils in Year 4 in this year's challenge.

  • School bids farewell to Mother Katherine

    Wed 08 Feb 2023

It was with a mixture of joy and sadness that children and staff bade farewell today to Mother Katherine Ward who has been associated with the school in one capacity or another for over 20 years.

Besides her ecclesiastical role in supporting us as a church school, Mother Katherine has served as a member of the governing body for a number of years and has been a teacher here. Her two children, now grown-up, also attended the school.

Mother Katherine has led hundreds of acts of collective worship at the school and led many of our services at the Parish Church. Her expertise, enthusiasm, kindness and commitment will be greatly missed.

We wish her well in her exciting new role as an associate priest in East London.

  • Culture Day

    Fri 03 Feb 2023

Pupils and staff celebrated a special cultural day today where everyone was encouraged to take part in a range of activities that enabled them to embrace different cultures and learn about others. The day was also marked as a non-uniform day with the children encouraged to wear traditional clothes to represent their family heritage.

A huge thank you too to all the parents/carers, relations who gave up their time to come and read stories in their mother tongue. We really appreciate your time, the children loved having you in school!
