  • STRIKE DAYS 05/07/2023 & 07/07/2023

    Thu 29 Jun 2023

    Dear parents/carers,

As you are aware the NEU(one of the teachers unions) have declared strike action, which will take place on Wednesday 5th July 2023 and Friday 7th July. The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over  teachers pay, and not because of any issues at our school.

I am writing to inform you that Chingford CofE Primary will be partly open on Wednesday 5th July only for pupils in Y4, Y5 and Y6. Breakfast and After School Clubs will run as normal only for Y4,Y5 and Y6 on that day. Y5 will be going on their planned educational trip to Neasden Temple.

We have not taken this decision lightly. We remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our pupils, and feel that we are not able to open to other year groups safely.

On Friday 7th July school will be completely closed for all pupils.

Im sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child on that day. I am acutely aware that you may have to make different arrangements for your children within your family. I understand that this situation may be frustrating, and ask that all members of our school community continue to treat each other with respect.

If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to contact me.

    Kind regards,

    Lindsey Lampard

    Headteacher

Year 6 leader, Luca, made every one laugh after the event when he commented, "I don't know how my mum looks after kids all day, as I'm exhausted!" Well done to Luca's mum and well done to Luca and all of our wonderful sports leaders!

  • Key Stage 1 Quadkids

    Wed 21 Jun 2023

Recently, the annual Quadkids event for Years 1 and 2 was held at The Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre. The event attracted over 20 schools from the borough to take part in long-distance running, sprinting, jumping and throwing.

The 16 children selected to take part behaved impeccably and showed a real flair and enthusiasm for the events, as well as great sportsmanship to cheer on and encourage children from all the schools that took part.

Once the events had finished, the organisers added all the scores, and I am delighted to announce that the Year 1 team finished in 2nd place, earning them a silver medal, and the Year 2 team finished in 3rd, earning them a bronze medal.

Well done to all that participated in the event; it was a fantastic day out, and I hope your enjoyment for athletics continues!

  • Diocesan Adviser praises Year 6 pupils.

    Thu 25 May 2023

Richard Hopkins, the school's Diocesan Adviser, spoke highly of three Year 6 pupils who organised and led today's acts of collective worship at both the Infant and Junior sites. Richard, who was at the Junior site this morning to monitor the school's progress as a Church of England Voluntary Controlled School, witnessed Eden, Isla and Toby lead prayers and talk to Key Stage 2 pupils about the world's endangered species and how everyone can help to support these precious animals. Describing them as 'courageous advocates', Richard complimented the children on their presentation and organisational skills. A special thank you to Thomas from Year 4 who took the photographs.
