Year 6 Leavers' Service
Wed 15 Jul 2020On Monday 13th July the school said an official goodbye to our Year 6 pupils at a special service held on the school field. Normally the Leavers' Service takes place at the Parish Church but lock down restrictions meant an alternative setting needed to be found.
With the prospect of glorious weather and marquees being kindly supplied by Gilwell Park, the service went ahead 'al fresco' on the school playing field.
The new rector, Father Justin, together with Mother Katherine, and Luke Lowrie from The Red Balloon Foundation, led the service which also featured prayers and memories of their time at Chingford C of E being shared by the pupils.
Although singing isn't currently allowed, a recording of Year 6 singing Rend Collective's 'My Lighthouse' was played as part of the celebration.
The service ended with an address by headteacher, Ms Lampard, who praised the children for being one of our best ever Year 6 cohorts.
Year 6 pupils, Paige and Brooke, were most impressed with the service. Paige said, "There was a really nice atmosphere and it was absolutely brilliant that every single Year 6 pupil was able to attend."
Brooke added, "It was great to meet Father Justin even though it was a case of hello, goodbye!"

Ms Lampard wins a key worker award!
Fri 19 Jun 2020Ms Lampard said she was touched to be nominated and delighted to have won! She said that she feels she has won it on behalf of the whole staff team but was unable at the time of interview to confirm whether she would share the prize! The prize is a beautiful Kate Spade handbag!
The first Ms Lampard knew of the nomination was when Kate Spade's marketing manager contacted her to tell her she had been nominated and to check some details! This is part of the citation that made Ms Lampard a winner!
" I would like to nominate a Key Worker who is a head teacher, she works in north London with children with so many issues, children in care, children with serious health issues, children who are in danger being at home so she has to keep the school open with a really positive attitude and she has had to cancel her well deserved Easter holiday. She does food deliveries each week to children who are living below the poverty line all over NE London. Every day whilst I’m on furlough and avoiding people I admire the fact that she goes into work and makes these children feel like life has some sort of normality.
Please consider this admission.
Kindest regards - I’ll give you more examples if needed!!"
