Eid ul Adha
Thu 09 Oct 2014Eid ul AdhaKey Stage 2 pupils recently spent time finding out the Muslim festival of Eid ul Adha which follows Hajj ( the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and one of the Five Pillars of Islam ). Children not only learnt about the origins of the festival and its meaning, but also had the chance to taste traditional foods served up during the celebration. There was also an opportunity for the children to have a mehndi decoration painted on their hands.To coincide with the event, donations were invited to help fund the school's continuing support of Anuj Kumar and his community. The school support Anuj through the charity World Vision's 'Sponsor a child scheme.' At the time of writing £112 has been raised.The school would like to thank Mrs Saleem who provided her time and resources to make for an exciting occasion -
Year 6 Visit Neasden Temple
Mon 29 Sep 2014Year 6 pupils recently visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Neasden Temple), one of the biggest Hindu Temples outside of India.
The children were given a guided tour of the temple and found out about its history and how it was built. They had the opportunity to observe an arti service led by the monks and visit the 'Understanding Hinduism' exhibition,

This activity has not been arranged with our school! There will be no holiday activities on either site due to major building works happening.

T-Factor Winners 2014!
Tue 22 Jul 2014Congratulation to Year 6 dance troupe, Dynamix, who won the schools' talent contest called the T-Factor. Performing to an Timber by Pitbull, the Year 6 pupils beat off stiff competition from 7 other acts to win 1st prize. -
Charlie our Guide Dog visits the School
Wed 16 Jul 2014Children at Chingford C of E Primary have finally got to meet up with the guide dog they raised over £2500 to put through it's initial training. Charlie, a Golden Retriever / Labrador cross visited the school together his trainer, Catherine Gaskin, and Guide Dogs for the Blind representative, Elisabeth Abbott. The school raised the money last year through a sponsored dog walk and a doggy hamper raffle. Elisabeth Abbott, who brought along her own guide dog, Daisy, congratulated the school for its fundraising efforts adding that it was the most money raised by a school for the Association over the past 12 months.

Summer Seaside Fayre 2014
Mon 14 Jul 2014Brilliant time had by all at the Summer Fayre. The sun shone down and the Reception parents worked their magic! A big thank you to the PA for a wonderful afternoon. -
