• Will C of E's football teams find gold at the end of a rainbow?

  Against the backdrop of a beautiful double rainbow, C of E's girls' A team made easy work of two of their opponents at a rain soaked 'Goals' 6 a-side tournament with impressive 10-0 and 8-0 wins. Tougher opposition was provided by Chapel End Juniors resulting in a 1-1 draw with C of E scoring in the last minute.
  
  Just as impressive were the Boys' A team who recorded a 12-0 victory as they strode to 2 games undefeated in their mini league.
  
  Both teams now have a great chance of qualifing for the latter stages of the competition which will eventually see the winner representing the Borough in the London Games held at Crystal Palace later in the year.
  
  Both Boys' and Girls' B teams put up good fights in their matches with the girls narrowly losing both their 3 games and the boys managing 2 draws.

• Harvest Festival

  Both the Juniors and Infants celebrated Harvest with traditional style Harvest festivals. Donations of foodstuffs were aplenty and these have been passed on to the charity Christian Kitchen who support the Borough's homeless.

• Eid ul Adha

  Eid ul Adha

   

  Key Stage 2 pupils recently spent time finding out the Muslim festival of Eid ul Adha which follows Hajj ( the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and one of the Five Pillars of Islam ). Children not only learnt about the origins of the festival and its meaning, but also had the chance to taste traditional foods served up during the celebration. There was also an opportunity for the children to have a mehndi decoration painted on their hands.

   

  To coincide with the event, donations were invited to help fund the school's continuing support of Anuj Kumar and his community. The school support Anuj through the charity World Vision's 'Sponsor a child scheme.'  At the time of writing £112 has been raised. 

   

  The school would like to thank Mrs Saleem who provided her time and resources to make for an exciting occasion

   

  

• Year 6 Visit Neasden Temple

  Year 6 pupils recently visited  the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Neasden Temple), one of the biggest Hindu Temples outside of India.

   

  The children were given a guided tour of the temple and found out about its history and how it was built. They had the opportunity to  observe an arti service led by the monks and visit the 'Understanding Hinduism' exhibition,

  The information printed in the Summer Days booklet that was sent home with the children is incorrect!
  This activity has not been arranged with our school! There will be no holiday activities on either site due to major building works happening.

• T-Factor Winners 2014!

  Congratulation to Year 6 dance troupe, Dynamix, who won the schools' talent contest called the T-Factor. Performing to an Timber by Pitbull, the Year 6 pupils beat off  stiff competition from 7 other acts to win 1st prize.
