Yr2 Visit to Suntrap Field Study Centre
Thu 24 Jan 2019Year 2 recently spent a fascinating day at the Suntrap Field Study Centre in Epping Forest as part of their science work on habitats. The children ventured into the forest looking at the habitats of minibeasts.
On their return to Suntrap they got to look at some exotic animals from habitats elsewhere in the world which included a corn snake, salamander, giant cockroach and stick insects.

Active Maths & Literacy Festival
Thu 24 Jan 2019On Thursday 24th January, some year 4 children attended this festival at the Peter May centre. Organising the maths and literacy activities were children from Chingford Foundation School as well as some of our own leaders from year 5/6 who’ve been working hard with Anne Rowland to create activities. The idea was for the children to practice their skills in an active way and making learning fun and physical.

Swimming Gala
Mon 21 Jan 2019On Thursday, 20 children from Y5 and Y6 took part in the borough swimming gala at the Feel Good Centre. The competition was tough but we made it through to 8 of the 11 finals and Joe C won a bronze for front crawl and has been subsequently invited to trial for Gators! Well done everyone!

Stay & Play Maths Mornings
Thu 10 Jan 2019It was great to see so many parents, carers and grandparents come into school this week to spend time with the children playing maths games. Year 5 pupil, Isabel, commented, "It was great fun teaching the adults to play maths games. I managed to beat my dad lots of times playing a game called 'Dicey Operations'!' -

Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day
Wed 12 Dec 2018On December 12th, our Christmas Lunch Day, children were invited to wear Christmas jumpers and to make a donation to Save the Children's 'Make The World Better With A Sweater' campaign. -
School Council Visit City Hall
Wed 12 Dec 2018Members of the school council recently visited City Hall, home of the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. The children were there to learn about how London is run. Year 6 councillor, Ellie, commented, " It was a really interesting trip and I discovered some amazing facts such as many movies have been shot at City Hall including James Bond and Harry Potter. I also learnt that the population of London is over 9 million people and that London is the most popular tourist destination in the world."
