Cross-country race 8th December 2018
Sat 08 Dec 2018Huge congratulations to all the runners who took part in the cross-country race on Chingford Plain. Everyone showed great tenacity in running in the muddy conditions! There were 233 girl runners from local schools and 241 boys! Quinlan in Y5 came 3rd out of all the boys! The boy's A team came 1st! The next race is in the spring term! -
Enabling Enterprise Trip to Mount Anvil in Whitechapel
Wed 05 Dec 2018On Wednesday 5th December, some year 4 children went on an Enabling Enterprise trip to property development company, Mount Anvil, in Whitechapel.
They worked in teams to develop their leadership, presenting, problem solving, creativity, teamwork and leadership skills.
The children had a fantastic day and their excellent attitude and behaviour was highly praised by the course leader and volunteers from the company who worked with him.

Kelloggs Awards Ceremony
Wed 28 Nov 2018We are delighted to tell you that we have been judged “the best breakfast club in London” by Kellogg’s and to collect the award Mrs Straughn, Mrs Beg, Gregory, Jasmine, Tia and Sebastian went to the House of Commons on Tuesday. They were lucky enough to have a tour of the House of Commons and to have lunch there. They had a wonderful day.

Platinum Sports Award
Fri 23 Nov 2018We had great pleasure to attend to the Waltham Forest Sports Awards in Waltham Forest to accept the Platinum School Games Mark. We are currently one of two schools that hold the Platinum School Games Mark. Our school and Greenleaf are the only two of 41 schools in London who have this honour. -
Nurse visits Year 2
Wed 21 Nov 2018Kristy McKeown, a nurse from Whipps Cross Hospital, gave freely of her time recently to come into school and talk to Year 2 pupils about healthy living with a focus on good hygiene and ways of preventing the spread of germs. -
Road Safety Roadshow
Wed 21 Nov 2018On Wednesday 21st November, some Year 4 children were invited to take part in the first borough Road Safety Roadshow in Walthamstow town centre. Activities included talks by the fire service, the police, bus drivers and community police officers. The aim was for the children to think about travelling safely as a pedestrian and on public transport.

Remembrance Day Assembly
Fri 09 Nov 2018Pupils from Year 5 led a Remembrance Day assembly that included a powerpoint presentation about World War One, singing, readings and payers read by Year 2 members of Prayer Club. -
Remembrance Service - Chingford Mount Cemetery
Fri 09 Nov 2018Children from Year 4 took part in a Remembrance Service at Chingford Mount Cemetery led by Father Andy. The children laid a wreath at the war memorial and placed crosses and flowers on some of the graves of those who died defending their country during the two world wars. -
Dr Faiza Shaheen visits her old school
Fri 09 Nov 2018Dr Faiza Shaheen, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Chingford and Woodford Green, recently visited her old school to share memories with KS2 children about her time at the school as well as talking about her political career which now sees her aiming to become a Labour Party MP.

All Saints Day Service
Mon 05 Nov 2018Year 1 & Year 2 pupils recently attended an All Saints Day Service at the Parish church. Thank you to F.Andy, F.Lee and Luke Lowrie from the Red Ballooon Foundation for leading a very interesting service. A special thank you also to the large number of parents, carers and grandparents who came along to support the event.
